We had a guest lecture from a man called Paul Roberts who used to be a student at the university and is now a very successful sports and documentary photographer. He taught us a lot about the rush of being on location and how to crop and upload images to filezilla as soon as we have shot the images so that they can reach the press quicker. This was good practice and we will have to put it into use at Tewkesbury and it was really interesting to learn anout the professional side of photojournalism. We were then given an hour and a half to shoot people around Cheltenham, to get used to being bold with the camera in order to capture good shots. This was helpful and i gained some confidence with asking people if i could take their photograph and learnt not to be shy. The purpose of this exercise was mainly so that we could gain some images to practise uploading to the web with the techniques that he had just taught us so it wasnt about having the best images. I chose my twelve favorite, cropped them to 10x8 format then uploaded them to filezilla. I havent retouched any of the images because this was merely a cropping and uploading exercise. Below are the images.
